What is hide and seek?

it is a game played between two or more individuals. it involves one individual counting while without looking, and the rest looking for the best hide outs. Once the counting time is over, the seeker seeks for the rest of the people until he finds them. the first individual to be found is the one who seeks the rest. The process is a loop and stops when the games end.

This is the kind of education system we have in our country.

it tests for content and not competence. Exam results tend to be goddesses of our future. Fate is real but we can change it. Sometimes I sit back and pity our world. Millions have lost opportunity just because they did not pass in an exam. How many times have you remembered something 5 minutes after the teacher said stop writing? and later realize you were just a mark to the pass mark; Does that make you lesser intelligent than that one who passes or remembered everything with the stipulated time?

A research shows that most students who leave our primary schools in rural Kenya have a lot of difficulties in speaking English. Graduates from our esteemed universities are theory based. Practical is a nightmare for most of them. Our lectures mostly go for the money and not proper delivery.

we all sit back and watch as the system ruins millions of lives and infringes ability of people.NO WAY. Change is required in that sector as fast as possible to “okoa” our generation which creates a better tomorrow.

We should either way not be moved by it. Keep focus and know your responsible for your own future. Our anthem should be:

Test us with tests, but the finals are never final

Because they never prepare us for the biggest test which is survival!

And what I suggest is fairly outlandish

So I don’t expect everyone to understand this

Except for the kid that knows what it feels like ,

to be worth no more than that D or that A that you get on results day

And the ones whose best stories were never good enough for your English teacher

Because apparently you missed out key literal techniques

Did not follow the class plan,

And the language was too “informal” for him to understand

But then he’d reference Hamlet and Macbeth

And you’d fight the urge to express your contempt

by partially clenching your fist

with only your medias finger left protruding in the middle of eyes come alive your hand

And asking if he was aware that Shakespeare was known as the innovator of slang

Or the kid at the back of the class who thinks:

We need to open our minds and educate ourselves that exam results aren’t the barometer of success and that we can’t let them decide our fate. We are in charge of our own destinies!

Am dreaming of that Kenya where talent, abilities, papers all work. and this is a step to eradicate poverty.
